About Miss Claire

Hi, I’m Claire — most children (small or big) know me as Miss Claire.

I’m an early childhood educator based in Australia, with a background in Chinese language, translation, and multicultural education. I’ve spent years working with young children and educators, and I’m passionate about helping Chinese language and culture feel natural, meaningful, and achievable in Australian early learning settings.

Living and working in Australia has shaped the way I approach my work. I understand the EYLF, the realities of busy centres, and the importance of inclusion that goes beyond “special days” or one-off celebrations. My focus is on creating experiences that fit comfortably into everyday practice, while still being culturally respectful and engaging for children.

As a native Chinese speaker and a trained translator, I care deeply about how culture is explained — not simplified, not over-romanticised, but shared in ways young children can truly understand. My work sits at the intersection of language, culture, and early learning, supporting educators to feel confident rather than overwhelmed.

Outside of my professional work, I’m also a parent and part of a multicultural community here in Australia. That lived experience keeps my approach practical, grounded, and warm.

Through my work as Miss Claire, I aim to support local ECEC services in building authentic cultural connections — ones that reflect Australia’s diverse communities and help children grow with curiosity, respect, and a strong sense of belonging.
